1. Rolex Daytona

The Rolex Daytona is one of the most revered watches that they produce, having been in production since 1961. The watch originally had low demand, which went on to increase after it was seen being worn by many Hollywood film stars of the time, most notably Paul Newman, who wore his every day for the 70’s until his death. Rolex then began to sponsor the 24 Hours of Daytona race where winners would receive a watch. From then on, the model became synonymous with racing drivers and motorsport enthusiasts.

2. Rolex GMT Master

The GMT Master was originally developed for Pan Am airlines. Pilots were looking for a watch that would allow them to look at two time zones simultaneously, and this is the watch that Rolex came up with. Since then, the model has become massively popular with not only pilots, but people who travel. Because of the popularity, the watch is constantly being updated and changed to ensure that the product is as good as it can be, including this year when a new model was revealed at Baselworld.

3. Rolex Submariner

Like many Rolex models, the Submariner isn’t just about style and looks, it serves a purpose. Used primarily by divers, the Submariner is waterproof up to 300 metres (1000 feet) and features a signature date magnifier on the face. Furthermore, the watch comes with a durable body and a clear display along with reliable mechanisms, making this model low maintenance, a stand-out reason why so many people choose this watch and why it is so popular.

4. Rolex Yacht-Master II

The Yacht-Master, introduced in 2010, was produced in order to meet the needs of sailors due to the large popularity of the sport amongst the wealthy. Available in stainless steel, white or yellow gold and platinum, the Yacht-Master is the largest model that Rolex produce. It is also waterproof up to 100 metres and features a chrome oscillator hairspring which makes it resistant to magnetic fields.

5. Datejust II

The original model, the Datejust, was introduced in 1945. Upon its release, it was the first wristwatch with a date function and a self-winding chronometer. Over 50 years later, in 2009, the Datejust II was released with an updated movement and a larger case (41mm in diameter). This case is available in steel with white, yellow or rose gold on an Oyster bracelet.
