Made with assistance from the European Space Agency (ESA), the Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer anticipates humankind’s next giant leap. Cased in grade 2 titanium, OMEGA’s unique 45 mm chronograph tracks time on Earth and the mysterious red planet. A logical trajectory for the makers of the first watch on the moon.

The watch is technically advanced and powered by the all-new omega 5622 calibre, a highly precise, thermo-compensated quartz movement that can keep up with the high demands of space travel with a battery life of 24 months. The watch has the ability to track time on both mars and earth, especially impressive considering that a day on mars is 39 minutes longer than a day on Earth. As well as being able to tell you the time on the different planets it can find the true north on both planets using an innovative solar compass. The wearer also has access to the features on the traditional Speedmaster Skywalker X33, such as Mission Elapsed Time, Phase Elapsed Time, alarms and a perpetual calendar.

The 45mm case is crafted out of grade 2 titanium so it is both durable and light, the watch comes on grade 2 and 5 titanium bracelet. As well as coming with a NATO strap and strap-changing tool to allow for easy personalisation based on your preference.

In addition to its many advanced features, the Marstimer timepiece would be a stylish addition to any watch collection, featuring a classic black dial which holds the watch’s digital display and the symbols of the 2 planets to be able to distinguish which functions are in use. Circling the dial is an oxalic anodized aluminium bezel ring in red hematite colour, reminiscent of mars’ distinctive dust. This striking shade also appears on the second hand which has a black-to-red hematite gradient. The case back features Omega’s famous Speedmaster wording and Seahorse logo, along with the ESA tested and qualified wording to testify to the partnership and integrity of the timepiece.

This watch has been developed hand in hand with the ESA to be the perfect watch for space professionals working on the mars missions and passionate collectors alike. Its ability to show earth time and mars time as well as true north on both planets is a massive innovation in the watch world. The display can swap between the 2 planets with a push of a button, the mars symbol will show when you are observing Mars’s time and the earth symbol when you’re observing Earth’s time. Overall, it is a high tech watch that is also stylish on the wrist.
