Baselworld is firmly underway with the biggest watch brands univeiling their 2017 releases. From Rolex and Tudor to Omega and Breitling, the watch world is buzzing with the news of new releases. Read on to find out about the new models not to be missed.
After the release of the hugely popular Cosmograph Daytona at last years event, Rolex had everyone waiting with baited breath to find out what would be added to the Rolex family this year. This year sees the addition of the 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller with a larger 43mm case and new calibre 3235 movement. As well as this anniversary piece, the 18ct Cosmograph Daytona has also been released featuring the innovative Oysterflex bracelet in Elastomer and Black Cerachrom Bezel in Ceramic.
The Sky-Dweller is also debuting a new variation of case, with the watch now being available for the first time in a combination of 904L Steel and 18ct Gold. The Rolex Datejust 41 also sees a revision with a new version available for the first time in 904L Steel or with an 18ct White Gold Fluted Bezel.
Not forgetting it's female wearers, Rolex also unvieled the Lady-Datejust 28mm available for the first time in 904L Steel! With multiple dial options, the latest edition to the Lady Datejust 28 family opens up the collection to a new market.
TUDOR have unvieled 4 new watches at this year Baselworld, including additions to the Black Bay family. The TUDOR Heritage Black Bay 41 presents a new model with a 41-millimetre diameter (previously 36mm) a slimmer middle case and fixed bezel in polished steel. This latest addition to the Black Bay Family adds a new elegance and formal feel to the collection, opening up its potential audience.
The TUDOR Heritage Black Bay Steel and Gold is also making its debut at Baselworld 2017 with a 41mm case, Black Dial and Steel and Gold Case and bracelet and fitted with a calibre MT5612 movement.
The famousTUDOR Heritage Black Bay divers watch has also welcomed a new member to the collection and is now available in a new all-steel version with a brushed steel bezel insert for the first time.
Omega have also released their 2017 watches with a Anniversary Trio: 1957 Trilogy Limited Editions. The commerate 60 years since the release of the iconic original watches, Omega have dedicated the spotlight for this years releases to the limited edition versions of the Railmaster, Speedmaster and Seamaster. Heavily inspired by the original watches, the limited edition 60th Anniversary watches even arrive in packaging inspired by the original 1957 packaging.
Omega have also announced the release of the Seamaster Planet Ocean "Big Blue". Crafted from a single block of blue ceramic and inspired by the release of the Planet Ocean "Deep Black" in 2016, the newest addition to the Omega family sports a 45.5 mm case with a blue ceramic dial and orange GMT track, hands and indexes in 18K white gold with a white Super-LumiNova coating. The blue ceramic bezel features a diving scale with Liquidmetal® numerals and a blend of orange rubber and ceramic covers the first 15 minutes.
The Speedmaster family is also gaining a new member with the addition of the Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer. Heavily inspired by the Speedmasters motor racing haritage, this watch features a "alternating" minute-track on the dial.
TAG Heuer definetely did not disappoint at this years Baselworld with an impressive 19 new models being unveiled including: The reissued Autavia, Camo and Khaki Aquaracer 300m models, 4 New Carrera Lady models, 2 new Lady Link Dial options, 3 new Link Men variations and a 18ct Rose Gold version of the iconic TAG Heuer Carrera-Heuer 01. In addition to the newly released TAG Heuer Connected: Modular 45, TAG Heuer have truly spoilt watch fans while also continuing to appeal to a younger and modern audience whilst still keeping with tradition.
Breitling have also introduced 4 new models at this years event, with the new Colt Skyracer, Navitimer Rattrapante, Superocean Heritage II and Avenger Hurricane Military.
The Colt Skyracer sports a sturdy Breitlight case, SuperQuartz movement, Screw-Locked Crown, Sapphire Crystal Glareproofed on both sides and rotating bezel with riding tabs on an exclusive rubber strap
The Navitimer Rattrapante holds its own split-seconds chronograph movement, one of the most sophisticated of its kind. With a limited edition version also available, the Rattrapante is not one to be missed for any Breitling watch fan.
The Superocean Heritage II boasts a new face, tailored for the modern wearer but still as iconic and dynamic as ever to commerate 60 years since the original watches release.With its black avant-garde case in Breitlight®, its dial with aeronautical-type numerals and its selfwinding Manufacture Breitling caliber powering an exclusive 24-hour display, the new Avenger Hurricane Military is a highlight of Breitling's Basel releases. With its bold design and technological workings, the latest addition to the Breitling family is sure to become synonymous with Breitling enthusiasts.
